Chicago-born rapper/actor Common teams up with R&B crooner John Legend in the emotional visual for "Glory". The musicians wrote the song for Oscar-nominated historical drama "Selma". The song won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
The music video shows both Common (real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr.) dropping lyrical wisdom in front of the camera, and John Legend (real name John Roger Stephens) singing his heart out and playing the piano in a solemn atmosphere, paying their due respects to the iconic Civil Rights Movement leader Martin Luther King Jr. The clip features cinematic footage from "Selma", which chronicles the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches led by James Bevel, Hosea Williams, and Martin Luther King, Jr. of SCLC and John Lewis of SNCC. The film stars David Oyelowo as King, Tom Wilkinson as President Lyndon Johnson, Common as James Bevel, Tim Roth as George Wallace, and Carmen Ejogo as Coretta Scott King.
