Canadian R&B artist, The Weeknd, pays homage to the late King of Pop Michael Jackson as he catches fire during a live performance at a local bar in the official visual for his smash-hit single "Can't Feel My Face". The song, which touches on the subject of drug addiction, was written by Abel Tesfaye together with hit songwriters Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, Peter Svensson and Ali Payami. The track was produced by Max Martin and Ali Payami and serves as the third single from The Weeknd's second studio album 'Beauty Behind the Madness', released on August 28, 2015 via XO and Republic Records.
The accompanying music video was directed by Grant Singer who also shot "The Hills" music video. As such the "Can't Feel My Face" visual is closely connected with the visual for "The Hills". Despite the singer's undisputed talent he fails to capture the audience's attention to his significant other's dismay (played by supermodel Chanel Iman). At least not until the same creepy old man from the mansion arrives at the bar and literally sets The Weeknd on fire with his cigarette lighter. In the end the crowd is raving and the singer leaves the bar all ablaze, like a burning star that cannot be contained.
