Beyoncé gets very lonely to the point of being overcome with feelings of jealousy in the dark visual for her power ballad, simply titled "Jealous". The R&B songstress co-wrote the song together with Noel "Detail" Fisher, Andre Eric Proctor, Brian Soko, Rasool Diaz and Jordy "Boots" Asher. It was inspired by Hanni El Khatib's "Roach Cock". The slow jam was produced by Beyoncé, Detail, Boots, Proctor and Hit-Boy. "Jealous" is the seventh track from Beyoncé's critically-acclaimed visual album 'BEYONCÉ', released on December 13, 2013. Musically both the song and the video serve as a follow-up to the previous track "Partition" (number 6 on the album).
The sequel was directed by Beyoncé herself in collaboration with Francesco Carrozzini and Todd Tours and filmed in New York City. The short visual portrays Beyoncé riddled with suspicions of infidelity as she fruitlessly waits for her man to come back home to dinner she prepared. Eventually, she loses her cool and sweeps everything off the table with one swift move. Then she puts on a stylish red leather trench coat and heads outside in search of her partner. She wanders aimlessly indifferent towards her photo-snapping fans. In the final scene, she runs into her mystery man on the street and the couple ends in a loving embrace.
