Child dancer Maddie Ziegler battles her turbulent emotions in Sia's official visual for "Big Girls Cry". The song was written by the 39-year-old Australian singer-songwriter Sia Furler. "Big Girls Cry" was produced by Christopher Braide & Greg Kurstin and is featured on Sia's sixth studio album '1000 Forms of Fear', released on July 4, 2014 by Monkey Puzzle and RCA Records worldwide and Inertia Records in Australia.
The music video was co-directed by Sia and Daniel Askill. It features "Chandelier's" star Maddie Ziegler in her trademark flesh-coloured leotard and signature blonde Sia bob in front of a black backdrop. Maddie is seen facing camera and displaying a million of dramatic facial expressions and gestures. In the second half of the clip, a pair of hands come into the frame, confirmed to be Sia's hands, and begin to choke the child star and manipulate her face and even strangle her at one point.
