Lorde returns with a dark and mysterious visual for her brand-new single "Yellow Flicker Beat". The song was written by Lorde (real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor) and Joel Little. The Paul Epworth-produced track serves as the lead single from 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' soundtrack.
In the Emily Kai Bock-directed music video, the newly turned 18-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter sits in a dimly-lit motel room while contemplating her life following her sudden rise to fame with her 2013 smash-hit single "Royals". According to Lorde herself, lyrics of the track reference the rise of The Hunger Games ' heroine Katniss Everdeen and the song is her "attempt at getting inside Katniss' head". Disappointingly, the clip doesn't feature any actual footage from the upcoming installment of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1".
