Video Premiere: Tove Lo - Love Ballad
Tove Ebba Elsa Nilsson, better known by her stage name Tove Lo, is a Swedish singer and songwriter, who started singing in an indie rock band but left the group after 6 short months in order to write her own songs and begin her solo music career. The 26-year-old Swedish sensation has also written songs for many famous artists including Icona Pop, Girls Aloud and Cher Lloyd. "Love Ballad" is Tove Lo's debut single and was written by Tove Lo and British indie rockers The Struts, who also produced the drum-heavy track. The song is an ode to falling dangerously in love with someone and was released in the fall of 2012.
The colorful music video was directed by Tove Lo together with Swedish artists of Motellet Film and features lots of body paint on some rugby players as well Tove Lo covered in black paint performing acrobatics on a football field and in the middle of an empty road. The clip is interspersed with footage of the athletic singer performing the song with imagery of city neon lights projected on her as well as her sitting topless on the field.
